About Alvin
Alvin Onyechi is a poet, thinker and lifelong student of life.
As a boy he took a video player apart just to see how it worked, and he has approached the world the same way ever since. He wants to understand it and then share what he finds.
He spent his early childhood in Africa and grew up in England. There he met both the richness of a multicultural community and the hard edges of racism and inequality. Wisdom books, stories from the Far East and years of watching how people treat one another have given him a clear view of human cruelty. They have also given him a stubborn faith in human potential.
His poetry is about life, the human experience and the journey through it. It is written for anyone finding their way, whether they are just setting out or already far along the road.
He writes so that readers leave a little wiser, more hopeful, and more at peace with who they are.
